“I am fascinated by how our constantly changing points of view affect how we interpret both the painted imagery and our own experience, which in turn forms our identity within our cities.”

 

Haddadin is an architect and a multidisciplinary visual artist. In her art she combines various techniques, from the traditional printmaking to experimental performative and video art and large scale design installations, creating multi-layered works that examine research-based issues around inclusivity, architectural impermanence or the obsession with eternity and power in our changing urban geographies. Her architectural installations are a reflection of the notion of temporality, sustainability and materiality.

 

She is the founder of the architectural and design firm Kayn.studio, which is based in Amman. She has a BA in Architecture and in 2008 she continued her studies in fine arts at the “School of Visual Arts” – “SVA” in New York. She is an “Arab Fund for Arts and Culture” (AFAC) 2015 Grantee and was one of two curators for the internationally recognized “Amman Design Week” for it first year, also designing its main public installations and exhibitions for the second year.

She is an “Arab Fund for Arts and Culture” (AFAC) Grantee for her art installation project “Island 861- How to Disappear” 2015. She had 5 solo exhibition in Jordan and one in Budapest- Hungary, with multiple local and international group exhibitions and biennales, the latest of which is the current running exhibition “Limitless” in Casa Arabe, Madrid.her work have been auctioned by “Christie’s and “Sotheby” auction houses and acquired by local and international collectors and institutions, the latest was “Ithra King Abdulaziz Center”Dammam, KSA.

Haddadin has been designing site-specific installations for the last five years, namely, the Jordanian Pavilion at “Abwab” Dubai Design Week 2015; The “Craft District” installations at Amman Design Week 2016; and “The Stream” at Amman Design Week 2017. She was one of two curators and the ‘Design Chief Officer’ for the internationally recognized ‘Amman Design Week’ for both the 2016, 2017 editions.
